Saniderm Tattoo Aftercare
How to heal you tattoo with a Saniderm bandage:
You can leave a saniderm bandage on for up to 5 days as long as it’s not leaking. Plasma and ink will continue to come out of the skin for several days after the tattoo is applied. The bandage will fill up with that fluid. As long as that liquid is contained inside the bandage it is ok to leave it on.
If your bandage leaks you want to remove it as soon as possible.
If the bandage does leak and you are not at home: wash you hands with soap and water, push excess fluid out of the bandage and leave it alone until you are at home. DO NOT TAKE BANAGE OFF IN A PUBLIC RESTROOM.
Once the bandage is ready to come off, get into the shower with warm water. Gently start to remove the bandage from one of the corners, working slowly. Allow water to run under the bandage, this will help loosen the adhesive. Take your time and work slowly, it can take up to 10-15 minutes to remove the bandage entirely depending on the size.
Once the bandage is removed wash the tattoo with warm water and a mild soap, nothing with perfumes or dyes and no scrubs or body washes.
Once out of the shower pat dry your tattoo with a paper towel. DO NOT USE THE TOWEL YOU SHOWER WITH TO DRY TATTOO.
Allow your tattoo to dry for 5 to 10 minutes. Once all the moister is off your skin apply a small amount of hand lotion. Again nothing with fragrance or dye. We like Lubriderm, Aveno, or Curel
It can take up to 2 weeks for a tattoo to fully heal. Your tattoo may scab. It’s important not to pick or scratch it,
Do not soak your tattoo! No swimming, no baths, and no jacuzzi.
